Default How to tell year of ECU PM6???

Hey guys we are looking at doing some ECU tuning for out 88 CRX. I was told its much better to find a 90-91 PM6 because it simply much easier to chip. Ok that's cool. BUT, how can you tell what year the ECU is out of? Dose anyone have a pic of a 90 or 91 I could compare to my 88?

Any help like always is greatly appreciated!!!

620-309482

there is no 89 or 90 in that number so what year is it? and how can you tell?

Correct...

So is

PM6-L09 (Cali)
PM6-C00 (Canada)

PS9 are all external eprom as well...

PR4-A01 (A02, L01, L02)
PR4-A10 (L10)

These are all external eprom

why is the 90-91 so much different from the 88-89? thats weird. i just replaced my 88 pm6 with a 91 pm6 with a "mugen" chip to make it a pm7, dont know how much i believe its mugen since it lookes like a sticker that was printed out at someones house. but my car is a 91 and my car seems to runt much better with this chipped ecu, a little rich. but the rpms dont fall so hard when i let off the gas and clutch. and the powerband is much smoother and a little more power at that.

It's probabaly one of those generic chips that ups the fuel and advances the timing a bit..

After looking at the pics I bought a 91 CRX ECU off Ebay a 37820-PM6-A09 with the date stamped 90 8 21. I took off the top and the chip that is circled in the above link in soldered to the board. Is this still the ECU I need for tuning??

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I just got the package today.

Thanx
