Hello everyone,

I'm apologize if I'm posting in the wrong section. Monday my 92 Honda Civic Hatch was brutally totaled when some guy ran a stop sign. I am looking for a shell so that I can salvage it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would really appreciate it...I was really attached to my car...it was passed down from my dad to me and to be honest I feel like I lost an old friend...Thanks in advance!

 

well, I the best thing to do would be to look around locally for a car that has a blown tranny, or maybe a blown engine, and buy it for cheap. It will be hard to find that vintage hatch in good shape. And anyone who is selling just the shell will likely know that they are hard to find. I had some random guy offer me $1500 cash for the shell of my hatch. I said no.

And sorry to hear about your loss. Are you buying back from insurance? Are you getting a settlement? Just buy a new hatch and swap what parts you can.

I'm waiting on the police report to get the car appraised but from what I hear from others experience it doesn't seem like I will get that much and Geico apparently likes to keep vehicles that they write off....which is making me feel extremely uncomfortable cause I don't want to part with the car...I've been looking for a shell but found similar situations -no one wants to sell theirs-....DrewNMegan21 can you provide me with details?
