Default Mugen Intake

Don't know if this a repost but here it goes

yeah so they did what probably a lot of us had in mind when we bought our Si's, atleast I had this in mind. I seen a couple of attempts of this idea, i'm wondering how many people would go with something like this and for how much?

I'm assuming you still use the top intake tube that connects from the TB to the air box

It looks like it has a tube going from the right foglight cover, like the DC5 brake vents.

Well my AEM CAI, as well as pretty much all CAI's the filter ends up right there behind the LF fog housing. How is this design gonna be proven more beneficial. I cut my fog housing out to increase air flow (and bug intake ), how you get more air than that?

You could pretty much make that mugen intake with the stock air box and some pvc.

Nice, you must be doing something right if you can afford a 500+ $ intake in your teenage years

yeah the price is ridiculous (spell check lol), but the idea is nice and i actually want to "create" 2 prototypes, something like mugen (minus the pvc something more clean lol) and another for race appl. where an ice box type can be incorporated. I still have to contact my monkey friends at TSR to lend a hand.

ARC makes blingy intakes that are known as much for heatsoak as they are for looking good.

mugen actually engineers their intakes. they actually make power.

Mugen = ¥68,250 / $572
ARC = ¥47,756 / $400

ARC would save you ¥20,494 / $172...

Don't forget the Mugen will probably have a bunch of extra charges:
- Name Brand Tax
- Overseas Export Tax
- Fuel Tax

The resonator chambers of the USDM Si Coupe is different than the USDM Si Sedan. Other than that, the OEM intake systems are the same.

That's baller intake, but for that price tag, i'd rather wait for SPOON to come out in something CF for our cars.

yea the intake is pretty baller for those who want the all jdm theme but it seems pretty pricey for probably less performance.

Does King Motorsports have this yet? It looks like you guys just pulled up the japanese Mugen site and found it there.

How could adding a high flow drop in filter and ram air tube, eliminating the resonator box and half of the intake piping before the filter box cause a drop in power??... come on guys, use your heads... There is more engineering here than a filter on a stick like everyone else is selling... I'm not saying there isn't an intake out there that doesn't perform better, but I believe the Mugen will perform better than stock
