All red paints will oxidize, or as many call it "fade", after several years of neglect. Most of the time this is easily cured with a good detail.

Yes, Milano Red, along with several other paint colors Honda makes, are tricoat paints. At least that's what Honda calls it, along with many other businesses involed in paint and paint production and sales.

The midcoat is tinted.
A good description here:

Tri-coats
Any color that has the word "Tri-coat" in the paint name listed on our site has three different coats of paint applied at the factory. The first is a basecoat of color. Next a second coat of transparent color, called the midcoat is applied and finally, a coat of clearcoat. The midcoat color is applied very thin and adds additional depth to the paint. In order to successfully match a tri-coat, you should practice on a scrap piece of metal or plastic.

Get your info straight before you go around calling people morons. Milano red is several tints mixed. Then clear is applied. PLEASE tell me what the mid coat is.

well... i know someone in the auto body business. and he did say it was a tricoat. but i forgot all that he told me about it.....
hmhmh RED PIGMENT is nasty expensive, the tinted midcoat ive seen leads to the most fading if neglected. my father has painted milano red a few times(35+years) so he told me that doing a base/clear job with MR or any red for that matter will make it pop more, but it would be brighter, unless the basecoat is tinted a few shades down. like PY its single stage from honda, but can be duplicated with a base/clear job.

Yes, get your info straight son
Milano red is a solid color, (no pearls,no metallics). Honda tinted the 1st clear coat at the factory. Part of the reason why that color fades pretty bad if not babied. Some paint systems recommend the tinted clear some do not. The standard color can be reproduced without tinting, its pretty much a wasted, useless step. I have used different paint systems for this same color and there is no difference between the tinted and not tinted. There really is no significant reason to even have a solid color sprayed in three stages. BTW I'm a BASF trained & cert. I-car cert. ASE cert. paint tech. So in my opinion it should be sprayed out base/clear, any more steps your wasting time and material.

i hate the fact that the milano red paint fades real bad on the civic matter of fact mine is chipping off on the sections off my bumper which means the bumper was not sanded and prepped correctly i n order for the paint to adhere to the body panel. its all good tho the line of ppg im buying is going to cost 685.57 for everything. thats not including the body work a new/used fenders and new fender

Wax doesn't keep paint shiny and vibrant. There's more to it than that.
Oh, but if you have a Milano Red 3G Integra that's still in good condition... you are probably lucky seeing how many 3G Integras that are Milano seem to have a problem with their paint.

I understand, but what I'm talking abotu isn't the paint changing color or oxidizing, it's clearcoat failure, where the clearcoat peels off the car.
I have a Milano Red Civic and my paint is as glossy and deep as the day it came off the assembly line.
