Quickest Lap Times from an average of 6 laps again but this time gsxr1000k7 included...
GSX-R1000K7: 1'46''8 (2nd quickest 1 lap of the day at 1'46"4)
MVF41000R: 1'46''9 (the quickest 1 lap of the day at 1'46"2)
1098S: 1'47''4
YZF-R1: 1'47''5
CBR1000RR: 1'47''8
ZX10R: 1'47''9
The MV had the fastest lap. WOW surprising. Not sure how that happened. Thought the GSXR might kill it.
I note the GSXR is somewhat heavier than past modles. BUT...obviously when you get the bike and remove the HUGE 2 cans and heavy cat converter it may be right there near the top.
I dont know anything about the track they were tested on or even which bike mag did the comparisons. Just had a mate email to me tonight.
Dry weight of the 1098 is also very impressive, as is its power. But still less than I expected... he he.... thats good!

That k7 is a real beast. It's nice to see all the stats side by side like that. I'm really loving the 1098, but I hear from many people that are having a lot of issues including stalling. Any progress?
I have not heard of stalling problems... that to me is not a big issue, you need to learn to ride a twin... big pistons, big stall. however I have heard from first handers that the as pretty as the bike is, it is not all that it you would think it to be in stock form. they are saying it is nice and all but its lacking some of the passion and outright speed that the older bikes had

Friends brother just picked up a 1098, and he is having major stalling issues. And he's spent the past 3 years or so riding in RC51. The problem is fairly widespread, I don't think it has to do with knowing how to ride a twin or not, unfortunately.
Looks like a fueling issue: http://www.speedzilla.com/foru....html

"I did read all these posts as well but we have 1400mls on our 1098S with 70mm Termis and it has not stalled once."
new map maybe? I remember the first day I had my nera... stalled it four times, after that never again. if it happens on throttle, it is usually rider error... if it happens at idle, map /injector problem. Even if your friend has ridden a 51 when you start bumping up displacement, those pistons start taking on a life of there own

That was the cure my friend mentioned, but I think it's a wait and see to determine if it actually works or not. My friend actually had a 749 and a 999, both had serious fueling/stalling issues (ie, cruising on the highway and stalling), got Ducati NA to buy back both, then he went with an RC51 and never looked back

What they came up with is that a Ducati superbike is like a hot girl you and all your friends want to get with, but she has syphallus. You and all your friends know better than to get with her..... but there is always that one friend that doesn't listen, gets with the girl....... and ends up with syphallus

I think it's directly proportionate to the exhaust and pc3 map you run.
