Driver door will not unlock with keyfob
2000 Accord Special Edition
Ok, long story short, some jerk in an F-150 backed into my driver door and smashed it, I had the door replaced by insurance and now my driver's door doesn't unlock with the keyfob.
I brought it to a local Honda dealer to have them look at it since the collision place asked me to in order for them to pay for it. The Honda dealer said that they replaced the actuator and it still dosn't work and they're clueless as to why.
The Honda dealer has decided that my aftermarket wiring may be the issue causing this to happen, I argued this point with them previously since my door worked perfectly fine before and after the collision, it had only stopped working AFTER the door was replaced.
I've decided to do the repair myself as soon as I get my car back, I have a Fluke multimeter with me and I'm going to ohm out some wires and check to make sure voltages are being recieved.
I have a wiring diagram but for some reason I'm not finding the driver's door actuator, I've found driver's door lock switch, driver's door lock **** switch, and driver's door key cylinder switch. - I found the driver door actuator. (edit)
Is anyone able to give me any insight on this? I know the keyfob signal is being recieved, when I hit the unlock button I can hear the keyless entry unit actuating from the passenger's side kick panel, if I physicly unlock the driver's door and hit the unlock button on the keyfob then all the other doors will open after the 2nd unlock command from the keyfob.
There's only 2-3 things I think it could be. 1: the driver's door actuator isn't recieving the signal to unlock. 2: the switch that decides that the driver's door is locked/unlocked isn't functioning properly.
If anyone has info on this can you please help me, I also need the proper procedure to remove the door panel, I don't want to mess anything up removing the panel since I've never removed one before.
Thanks in advance.
