ok well i might possibly be trading my 92 dx 4 door for a CRX . now i know the weight differneces and the bumper and corner lens differneces but here is the thing. This guy is claiming its a hf juding by the pics it could be either a dx or a hf. its either a 88-89 but how do i tell other then that if its a hf or a dx by looking at it?

i have no rear shot of the car so i can't even see if it says nething. It does have a rear wiper tho. now to my knowledge hf never had a rear wiper and had aluminum rear drums? and had a rear wiper in 90-91 but what about 88-89. yes i did search but could fine this specific thing.

 

Tell him to take more pictures?

Ask him the vin #?

Why are you asking though? You dont want to trade if its a HF? Or you dont want to trade is its a DX? Whats up?

 

It's an 2nd gen (88-91) HF if:

- the engine has 8 valves instead of 16
- it's one of two colors...Rio Red or Frost White
- it does not have a 3 spoke steering wheel
- it does not have an adjustable steering column
- there's no quartz digital clock
- there's no cargo cover
- there's no rear window wiper or washer
- it only has a left door mirror

The easiest thing to notice is the tach goes to 5500rpm redline. It's usually in all the pictures of for sale cars.

 

well i want it if its a hf i don't want to deal with the dual point crap. the car is white and has 2 side mirros both white in color the door handles are black and so are the door moldings. he only has 3 pics and i can probly upload them on here later. i gues the vin number i can try for also. i kno all the other obvious stuff like the tach steering wheel etc. just tryin to tell from the picture's.

You don't want a DX. An HF has MPFI.
