b16 header torque sequence

Default b16 header torque sequence

I've searched archived and new content and google also. I need the torque sequence for installing a b16 header and the sequence for removing the exhaust manifold bolts. I think i read the torque is 23 ft/lbs, is that correct

Yes, 23 ft lbs. Start with the centre bolt and alternate as you work your way out.

It isn't uncommon to read posts regarding people snapping off exhaust studs or experiencing exhaust leaks, so wanting to torque the bolts properly is perfectly reasonable.

Not to mention the fact that there just possibly could be a reason the manufacturer has torque-specs.

yeah thats pretty much my thoughts. I have had to easy out snapped bolts before, it sucks ***

i never torque exhaust bolts or manifold bolts never had a problem with leakage. but to be on the safe side just torque them down
