Just get the new Azenis RT-615. It's even better than the old Azenis.

Why would you want the old rt-215 when the rt-615 are so much better in everyway possible?

well the old specs are more race minded! and the wallls are thicker and hold heat way better, the new ones are more flash and street minded not full race!, and the walls aren't as strong as the 215's

what about the specs is more "race minded"?

the only thing ive heard regarding heat with either tire is that they both have a tendancy to overheat and get greasy/slippery over multiple runs at an autocross situation, with the 615 managing heat better and overheating less. holding heat isnt always beficial.
plus, every comparison ive ever seen says the 615's are the faster tire

in either case, will you be actually driving on a track in a race situation or just m4d tyte tougay mountain runs that you need a full race tire? if the former, look into Rcomps if your class allows, even the azenis are a compromise for the street.

welll wisconsin weather isn't really hot! so the tires control heat way better! a summer day might be like 78 degrees out at the track pluss I started scca already so they will be for racing, and street mod allows azenis! and Ive gotten so used to them I want to keep them the same........

Wow I never heard of some one complaining about how a tire looks! I guess you are more Form over Function.

You would rather have the old RT215 over the new and improved (in everyway possible) RT 615. That is just ridiculous!

Either way you won't be able to get your hands on any RT 215 as THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED by the RT 615. So I guess you will have to find a better looking tire!

No, they're not. It's exactly the opposite.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JcDrMx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ppl who have tried both like the old ones better!</TD></TR></TABLE>

Not true.

And that's not just my opinion, and the opinion of others who have tried both. That's also the conclusion that Grassroots Motorsports reached when they tested them side by side. The new Azenis are better, period. Shorter lap times, better resistance to heat, better grip in the rain.

So please don't go around spouting off claims that just aren't true. And please read the article in Grassroots Motorsports before you post that nonsense again.

I seriously doubt that.

Ask racers whether they would rather use newly-manufactured tires, or tires that have been sitting around for a few years (which, now, means all the old Azenis) and 100 out of 100 will tell you they would rather use the new ones.

so if you arent going to be competitive, why insist on old, near-impossible to find street tires when the new/improved version is readily available?

good luck in your search i guess

I can't believe how misinformed you are! First of the Rega Evo and Rota Slipstreams are both copies of the Spoon SW338. So I wouldn't care which set I had on my car as both are fake replicas!

You say you asked scca racers in higher classes and they say the rt215 is better then the rt615. First off they use R compounds so they want the stickiest tire available to them meaning they would not go for a old discontinued tire like the rt215! Scca racer in higher classes tend to be tire ****** such as Nsxtasy

I dough they would recommended you the old version of the Azenis over the new one unless they want you to be competitive!

I am think that this thread has reached its maximum! I don't think it will serve any purpose continuing to argue with you. You can enjoy your quest on finding tires that are discontinued 2 years actually you will be the only fool looking for them and thinking they are better then the new rt615!

Good luck and I hope along the way you wake up and smell the coffee!
