what are the simptoms of a bad ecu

is it possible to have a bad ecu and not have a solid red light?

Sometimes... if the ECU is getting NO power, then yes. The car won't start or run.

my ecu went bad and had no light at all. so to answer your question yes.

well i have personaly never seen one go bad, i have seen chips go bad but not a ecu, i have heard of it thou, best bet is to try your ecu in a friends working car and vice versa

there would be a check engine light on and if no solid red light thre willbe no blinking but you will have a CEL

do you?

try a known nworking ecu if you think its the ecu

its a pm5 ecu for an 89 crx dx right?
