do you have 2 connectors in theback of your gauge cluster
actually it might be for your hazards
do your blinks work
thats wierd why its under your dash hmm...

my blinkers, hazards work as well as all my idiot lights but the guage lights just dont illuminate, im thinking it might be the miltifunction switch

I wish I honda-tech's search was a little better, because I could find you the exact thread where this came up once before, a long time ago.
the only one I could find was this one, and its only slightly related:

Basically, you are missing a small box that sits right underneath your cluster, under the steering column. This box is what that harness plugs into. This box controls the cluster lights, and just about anything that is supposed to light up in the cabin if your parking lights or headlights are on.
I know this, because mine fried one day. I had to resolder the transistors inside. And magically, my lights worked again!
Mine had a weird code stamped on the side that said AK-22, or AK-27, something weird like that.

you get a
for apologizing. that isnt common here on h-t.
good luck. i'm not sure what it is. last time i had gauge lights out was in the 90s.
it was a bad headlight switch and also a blown fuse. the fuses are labeled for taillights/gauge cluster.
