Default Lowering Dilemma

I actually found a killer deal on S. Tech's and I know Pro-Kit's cost $200+ with shipping and such. So I was thinking of MAYBE switching over to S. Tech's.

The only problem is, my car is a DD and I've seen 6th gen coupes dropped on S. Tech's and it seems like its fairly low (1 finger gap if that). And I know with the Eibach Pro-Kit, you can fit atleast 2/3 fingers.

But does anyone own them personally and can give input? Sometimes I run into bumps (stupid speed bump **** in random parking lots) and I don't want to scrap or rub. I mean I literally RARELY come across speed bumps and such. But going into my driveway, there's the storm drain so it dips down and I really don't want to scrape everytime I come home or leave. I plan on getting a front lip too and I don't want to rip that **** off within a day.

Input?

Whats finger gap like? I plan on riding on Tokico Illuminas with them.

But like I said, getting onto my driveway MIGHT be a problem and random speed bumps and terrible fk'ing NYS roads.

Forget lowering springs, get adjustables (Ground control, skunk2, ect) so you dont have to worry about settling for one preset ride height.

It's also going to depend on your wheels and tires. My car ('98 Civic coupe) is lowered on S-Techs right now and has 15" LS meshies and 195-50-15s. I don't have a problem driving daily.

I really want 16" wheels later and I'm definitely going to be riding on Tokico Illuminas. I'm not sure how much that'll effect anything...

And actually I went out and measured random points on the car 2" lower (extreme case with friends in the car, etc.) and it's just too low for me. I forgot that I'm one of the main drivers out of my friends so I'll always have friends in my car and such and that'll drop it another half inch to inch.

So I'm like 90-95% with Pro-Kit but who knows... And for those who are going to recommend coilovers, I don't want them nor do I need anything that nice.

Mine's lowered:
Front: 1.9"
Rear: 1.7"

Just because you get 16s doesn't mean you need massive tires.

Oh wow S. Tech's aren't as low as I imagined... I can get em for $130 shipped NIB so I think I might stick with S. Tech's and just sell em if I don't like em lol.

It's a very comfortable ride. It's nothing shocking from going from stock (I don't need anything that makes the ride uncomfortable anyway).

It handles better than stock imo (that's speaking from owning a heavy-assed coupe), but nothing like I'm going to go out road racing with them. There is still body roll, but it's not as bad as it was stock.

Iti's low, but not so low that it's difficult to get out of or that I hit speedbumps. Some curbs are high enough that I could knock my front bumper against them, which could be made worse with a lip. Don't park over top of curbs and you should be good though.

Yeah I plan on getting Tokico Illuminas anyways so I can adjust the stiffness there as well.

Even if they're not that stiff, I'm gonna get an OEM SI sway bar, NRG H-Brace, OEM SI strut bar, and a few other cheap goodies to improve handling/response.

S. Tech's it is. Thanks Amy

my buddy has the s-techs on stock shocks on his rsx-s and they ride okay. the drop in my opinion is not enough though. Once you drop your car you'll want to go lower trust me bro haha. Thats why i decided to go with GC's combined with kyb agx's. i had the same mind set as you before but now its slammed is the only way to go...

No I will not want to go lower because it is a DD and NYS roads are bad and I am the main driver out of all my friends so I will practically always have a full car in the summer.

But S. Tech's it is. Besides, I can always just sell them and throw on stock's until I buy Pro-Kit anyways.

I don't want to go any lower than I am. When I end up changing to another setup, I'll still want about this same ride height. Any lower is going to scrape on speedbumps and bottom out through turns and such.
