LS/VTEC will make more power. The costs are about the same. Do a little searching.

just under 2 G's? (must be street price) keep in mind, with each swap there is alot more in pricing then just the motor and trans. if you have the know how, ls-vtec ftw but if your not ready to tackle a project that takes alot of time and $$$ then go with gsr. the ls-vtec would probably be the cheaper route considering parts WITHOUT labor but for reliability i myself forked up the cash for the gsr. i just felt a little more comfortable with it.

What reliability problems do LS/VTEC's have?

I thought about it for a minute and realised I was way too inexperienced to try to do an LS/VTEC build.

With the right amount of experience, you could build an LS/VTEC engine better than an OEM Honda block, I'm sure, but I definitely don't have that.

I've got a hard enough time replacing a head gasket and doing the timing belt

Ninjedit - I've got a GSR sitting in the warehouse I'm tearing down right now & collecting parts for.

You coulda hired me, you hired me for my good looks and snuggling skills... but not to build your motor.

Frankly I'm insulted.

GSR
Pro :easier
con :cost

lsv
pro : built to your spec
con : you make it

It's really that simple, what ever works for you. I've had both, i have an lsvtec now though. Both are great *as long as the lsvtec is done right*

You do see the long list of Honda tech users, for them it's a horridly difficult idea.

What ever one you built as niether will take a ton of psi with out some better parts on the guts.

You can do around 300 both off near stock, then again calling an LSV stock is foolish as it's not a real stock part, but using only OEM parts you can make an lsv hold around 350 whp.
