engine light help
hey guys, i just recenntly put a gsr on a 93 cx about 3 weeks ago.... but just recentlly, when i turn my car on, the check engine light came on and it felt like the car was about to shut down,. however, it is still drivable but cannot not accelerate like i use too, even ifi press the gas pedal all the way down, it wont go. any suggestions? also, i am not sure how to make the engine light blink so many times to see whats wrong... thanks in advance
We need more specific symptoms than that, but from what you have wrote it could be a few things
First ideas that come to mind are
- You need a general tune up, repalce your spark plugs, change oil / trans fluids, maybe replace cap and rotor, and get your timing checked.
There are a lot of things that come to mind, you need to go onto the CEL light thread, and lookup how to check your own codes, its simple, and all you need is a paper clip. After you look that up, tell us what code its throwing, and we can help you out some more.

ok, i think i understand now.... the first codes on that link applies to cars, from a paper clip, and the second codes, the ones with P are only for obd2 cars that got tested from a scanning tool, am i correct? anyway, i got one long flash, and repeats every 4 sec.. so my code is 10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor like stated before....how do i fix this? what am i suppose to look for? i have no idea what the sensor looks like... thanks in advance
obd1 and obd2 codes from the jumper are the same
you get the P#### if you use a scan tool
Sensor is located on the intake manifold, usually held on by 2 phillips screws
Remove the electrical connector, clean it with brake cleaner, slap on a blob of dielectric grease ("bulb grease") and reconnect.
Reset the ecu and see if that takes care of it.
If it doesnt, you may just need a new sensor (assuming the wiring is good)
