What would be a good price to sell my accord for?
I am considering selling my 95 lx to get something that gets better mpg and has less miles on it.
Its a 1995 Honda Accord LX with 132k miles on it. It is all stock besides the stereo and alarm.
It has a Sony HU, 2x Infinity Kappa 6.5's, and Polk Momo 6.5''s in the rear.
It has a viper 791xv 2-way alarm
It also has Limo tint on the rear windows, and 25% up front.
As for mechanical, it runs perfect. The only thing broken is the pump for the windsheild washers, but who uses it anyways?
Cosmetically, it has a few door dings, maybe like 4-5 total, and the paint is in really good condition.
How much should I ask for it? 3800?

And what are you going to get that gets better mpg than your accord? What condition is the car in mechanically and cosmetically is going to be a lot bigger factor in the price than what kind of alarm or speakers it has.
I added more info to the first post. I keep the car in perfect running order, it was owned by my uncle before me, he drove it like an old man.
I was thinking of getting a little civic or integra. I only get 20mpg right now it sucks.

Don't short change yourself. Ask $4,500, you can always go down if you don't get good response. I sold my 92 Accord for $4,000 (12 years old with 140k miles) within an hour of putting the sign on it, to the first person that stopped to look at it. After, I realized I could have gotten more for it.

When is the last time you changed the air filter and spark plugs? And your tires are properly inflated, right?
Just wondering why you are only getting 20 mpg. I get about 26 or 27 average on my '99 LX.

I get horrible gas mileage in my 98 EX. Even before I put I/H/E on it. I drove it nice on 2 tanks of gas and got the same mileage....right around 300 miles to the tank.
Changed my plugs, oil, air filter, etc. etc. Just one of those things I suppose. I gave up and don't care about gas mileage anymore...even though gas is $3.50 for premie.

That's why right there. The F23 gets way worse mileage on 91-93 octane then it does on 87. I guess you're pretty much screwed though since you have a nitrous setup and need to stick with the higher octane. (And I saw in another thread that you have a code for the cat... That's going to hurt your gas mileage too since the ecu will run the car slightly richer.)
m1ndless,
If you're dead set on selling the car, follow BLKFLSH's advice. But I'm also curious as to why your gas mileage is so low.

I've never run my car on low octane gas. I've always run it on premium, even before I added my nitrous kit. I only use nitrous during the summer since it rains so damn much here, so I don't HAVE to run high octane gas. Yea - the cat code sucks....wonder how I'm going to get rid of it without putting a cat back on...?

I am torn between fixing up my honda, or getting a differnt car. I hate automatic, but a 5sp swap is a pain, but I am getting used to driving an AT, its kinda nice just to drive, and not worry about shifting or anything.
I was thinking of maybe putting some headers on, along with a CAI.
The last few weeks, I got 23-24mpg, but when I had my SRI on I was only getting 20mpg for some reason? Kinda odd.

I would imagine because the pedal was further down to hear the noise of the SRI. Thats why technically you get better gas mileage with a CAI, SRI, Exhaust or whatever, but than everyone wants to hear those features and brings the RPMS up higher. If its not that. Than i dont know.

Run 87 octane if you know you won't spray then... There's a pretty big difference in gas mileage.
As for the cat, use what most call the "mechanical fix". You should be able to find out about it by searching for "spark plug defouler". And no, that's not a typo.

More air means the ecu adds more fuel.

As everyone else said, ask high, and see what you can get...
If you want another Accoed, I must recomend an 03+
I just bought an 03 with 32K miles on it for $14,500. It gets 29mpg, and has plenty of tq and hp with the K24 and a 5spd.
