OBD2 Car with OBD1 Engine.. HOW i I Pass OBD2 Inspection?
I dont know how things work where you are but im willing to say your emissions is alot stricter than it is here. My buddy did a obd1 swap into his obd2 car....... screwed himself because he cant get it inspected or get tags for it. Im pretty sure if your car was obd2 to begin with it has to stay obd2.
Heres the deal
In OB2 inspection they plug into your car's ecu and read off your O2 sensors, one which is before your cat, and one which is after, they mainly focus on the one thats after. They sometimes place the sensor in the tailpipe, they did that for my 1997 civic, prob cause i had a (legal) Aftermarket exhaust (with silencer in of course) otherwise they mainly read what ur second 02 sensor is reading. My friend with a stock WRX went thru, and they didnt stick any sensors in his tailpipe, only went on what the computer said
With OBD1, there is only one sensor, on the header, not really a part of emissons, but more for fuel managment/reading for the ECU.
Now if you use a jumper when you goto Inspection, with an OBD1 ECU, in an OBD2 car, it most likely wont pass, cause it wont read.
If your running catless, Inlinefour.com( http://inlinefour.com/blcelelad.html) has the BLOX inserts for your 02 sensor that extends the bung away from the piping, fooling the ECU into thinking its reading for exhaust thats been thru a cat, because it places a gap that lets it read less emissions therefore it will read fine when it comes time for inspection, ( assuming they dont put the sensor up ur tailpipe) it also eliminates CEL's
But if really comes down to it, get it inspected before all this, to save yourself the trouble for awhile of having to worry about it.

you wont pass with OBD1. They have to hook up to you ECU and it wont read with the OBD1. I have the same problem. The only thing you can do is keep it OBD2 of register it where there are no emissions.
I'm in PA and just got my car inspected!! I'm running a chip obd1 p28 with obd1 to obd2b jumper harness and the machine couldnt read it! however they did a gas cap test and passed but I have to correct the ecu issue next year in order to get my inspection.. Some advice keep a spare obd2 a or b ecu around come next year!!! Also remember u have to drive 40-50 miles to reset it before getting inspection..

I know here in Texas you wouldnt be able to pass. Because for one the computer would not be able to read your obd1 ecu and there fore you would have to get it fixed before you would get a sticker. Because it will automatically fail you due to haveing to many "not ready" because it would not be able to read it. And for one here its against the law to Go back in OBD you can only go forward in OBD diagnostics. I dont know how it is in other states but thats how we do it.
