Default Quick Tech Question: B16a Starter replacement

I have a JDM B16a SiR-II swap in my 96 civic. The starter is going bad and I need to replace it. Can I use a starter from a 99 - 00 Civic Si, or do I need one from the Del Sol DOHC VTEC? Thanks in advance.
I also need to know if this is also possible for a waterpump.

I'm running OBD 1 if that makes any difference.

Thats what I used. I have a jdm obd1 B16a and I used a starter from a 99 EM1 and it bolted up no problems.

correct
Any b-series starter will work as starters only have a positive and negative connection and no ECU connector itself

Is the same case for a waterpump or do I need an OBD Specific one as there is a sensor in it?

depends.
waterpump's generally are very close or the same...as they have no electrical connection so OBD isn't a factor.

Just depends what water pump because some flow more then others.

np

btw:

Here's the numbers(all rated at 6,000rpm)
B16A oil pump 53qpm
B17A oil pump 54qpm
B18C oil pump 75qpm
B18B oil pump 53qpm

B16A water pump 140qpm
B17A water pump 140qpm
B18C water pump 148qpm
B18B water pump 148qpm

For those who huff butane:
qpm = quarts per minute

however b18a/b water pumps have a different number of fins than vtec pumps (more) causing water cavitation at higher rpm
