looking at these pistons in a d17 the compression hieght on them is 28.3mm so should still b fine about .5mm above hole they are used in jdm d15bs and sit .55mm out the hole so i dont see why it would have a problem i would clay for big cams though with a d16z6 being stroked and a set in 76mm compression would be 11:1 any1 have any thoughts on this? can easily get vitaras compared to gx pistons and vitaras are designed way better so should be able to take some nitrous also

people like the gx's because you can use the ls rods. if your not wanting to do that than i would go with the vitaras,although i thinkk the run really low compression in honda blocks. great for turbo and prob. spray. they have held 300 hp with good rods. d-series.org has alot of info on this

 

i think u missed the poin in my post lol ur talking about using a 1.6 crank im talking about a 1.7 crank strocking the motor and using a 76mm bore will result in a compression of 11.1 a nice stage 3 cam and high compression valves will make a very ourque motor and will be my next project

i will be just trying to find out if i can get Y.C.P. to make me GX pistons in 76mm out of the same material as the vitaras
