Default 01 Honda Prelude HELP

Ok long story short: check engine light came on with code 45, replaced the O2 sensor, code went away as did the check engine light. A few days later check engine light came on again with 3 codes this time..one 71, 72, 73..I took it to honda and they said it was the spark plugs is causing the misfiring. Replaced the spark plugs and now the check engine is still on but NOW only with Code 72. The car now stalls once in a while when i put it in neutral coming from a coasting speed. The rpm tend to flucuate when the car is cold and ONCE in a while when the car is warm... WHAT the hell could be the problem I dont want to keep spending money on parts...Someone had mentioned that my car MAY need a new engine but it only has 150,000Km..Any suggestions PLEASE???

I have not had this problem but i would just start replacing cheap parts first. Maybe clean your iacv, replace fuel filter i dunno just a thought i am no mechanic but these are cheap and easy checks. But this would not make your check engine light on.

He is trying to help, you are asking to figure out a problem never seeing hearing or driving the car.
im not tring to be an ***, but with 150,000 KMS, change out whats old looking, as I bet nothings been done with the car.

My money is on the wires.

also, If this wont break the bank, go down to Napa, get a bottle of carb cleaner.

take off your iacv and sray it out REAL GOOD!!
then take off the intake tube and spray arund the butterfly valve while holding it open.

Wipe around the TB with a rag till its good and clean spraying the rag with carb cleaner.
put all that **** back togeather and run that ****. (may give you some sass when you go to start her up)
bet that will help with most if not all your troubles.

I agree, don't go to shop just do it yourself and cleaning is the best first solution. clean intake, egr, checking map sensor and etc..

what is code 72 anyway, im lazy to look up on helms..

Code 72 is a misfiring code..I'll start by cleaning and see where it goes from there.

Its too bad you don't have a scan tool. If you could get live data while the engine is running you could figure what the problem is but most people don't have a scan tool for this. They take it to the dealer and get hosed. Guessing is a wrong way of diag a engine problem.

Does the dealership have this scan tool? If so it will probably cost a fortune..

why don't you go to auto zone or advantage auto part they do have the scan for free just ask them. At auto zone you have to leave your drive license and they will give you the scan but at Adv. auto part some time if they are not busy they would do it for you just ask them
