Default The making of my custom interior.. PICS

BEFORE:

i stripped the car and started weight removal

removed power seatbelt motors and lines.

270k miles on my carpet
Before:

after:

I fixed the rusted spots as well this was causing cabin noise!

Fiberglass was applied to both sides of the wheel well

i also used sound deadener to make the interior sound and feel better.

The original headliner was tan, i covered it in black vynl

Integra LS seats weigh ALOT less then the stock seats and look and feel way better

Painting Time!

I picked up an Acura Legend map light from the junkyard and an ebrake and shifter boot.

Putting it together

added some rice

maplight and headliner

Finished!!

At first i just wanted to clean it up a bit, and then i started going to the junkyard and getting small things like integra clocks and shift boots. when i bought the ls seats i decided to do the whole thing.

it took me 6 weeks total but i would say about 2 weeks of actuall work on the car like every chance i had.

oh and the seats are from a 95, its hard to mount them if you really wanna know pm me.

Spray painting carpet won't last a wash or two.
Best way it is using the dying materials.
But "A" for the effort and "A" for the final result!

Awesome job! I want to do this to my 95 Accord. Well not a color change, but strip the whole interior and clean it really good.

One question though, did you use one of those carpet steam cleaners you can rent or something else? I was thinking of using a carpet steam cleaner, but I don't know if the ones that I've seen have a smaller steamer on it.

thanks for the compliments guys, i had that steam cleaner lying around at my rents house, so i used it. its good because it sucks up the water though

i basically ended up dumping grease lightning on it and spraying it with a hose while scrubbing it with a scrub brush lol.

it works alright, it mostly stops the sounds of little rocks or debris bouncing up in the undercarriage. also make it feel more airtight.

i thought about dynomat, but the point was to lose wieght not gain it.

Nice two-tone paint job.
Interior looks good, I'm kinda surprised that the spray paint isn't chipping or anything.

Would you mind explaining the steps you took to mount the Integra LS seats into the Accord?

Also, did the height of the seat change? Meaning, do you now sit higher, lower or at the same height compared to the stock seats?
