k20 base model in eg
ok here it is im a noob to the jdm world and i need some advice... im planning on buying a 2002 rsx base model from my local auto salvage with intensions of pulling the motor out.. im planning on dropping this motor in a 93 hatch.. i just want to know is it worth it and will it run the same as k20a type s if i reprogram the ecu, if so how would i go about doing this thanks.. again i am a noob looking for some answers badly
welll it is in a base model rsx 02 i asked the guy if i could just pull the motor out but he said i could only buy the whole salvaged car ... he was asking $2500 which was ok with seats and any other parts on car i thought it would be a good buy

go b16 pretty much same hp and it is a much easier swap
how much you getting the k20? anyways</TD></TR></TABLE>
Umm....not really.
It would definitely be worth it IMO. Buy the car, pull the seats out (front and rear), take the wheels off, pull the motor.
Everyone always says it's not worth it unless its the type S A2 motor...however nobody ever gives proven facts that it isnt worth it.
People always (and still do) said the D and H series motors were not worth it.....look at how many serious builds you see out of those
http://www.k20a.org read up.

I know someone who bought a salvaged Type S for $2300... shipped. Not even too much damage.

Thats pretty much all you'd need anyway.
Keep the seats and motor, and sell the wheels (since you cant use them anyway).
Did you check out that website for some K series info?
