Pleasae help! Problem with fuse blowing :(
I jump-started my mother's dead car today with my 1995 Accord EX, and the next time I drove my car, noticed the heat wasn't working. The entire Heater control panel in the car doesn't work at all - no light for the heat and A/C air flows or fresh air/recirculate air button or anything. Also, my rear window defroster button doesn't work.
I checked the fuses for both rear defrost and Heater Control unit. The Under-hood fuses were fine for both. The under-dash fuse for the Heater Control relay was blown, so I replaced that 7.5 amp fuse. When I started up the car, I saw the lights for the air flow and fresh/recirc. air buttons light up briefly, and within a second or two they went off. Immediately I pulled out that fuse and it was blown. I did this once more, and blew another brand new fuse.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there something I'm overlooking? And why wouldn't the rear window defroster work if the fuse is OK for that?? I'm stumped! Any ideas??? I'd appreciate any help! Thanx in advance

I had this problem the other day, come to find out when i was trying to charge my a/c i had forgot to tape the wire were it runs to the compresser it kept hitting my frame taped it up and put another fuse back it works fine now. try and see if a 10 fuse works thats what i used and it hasnt blown.
To much draw there is a short in one of the systems. Do you have a multi meter? You need to check the wiring and systems for shorts.
96Accord, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check the compressor wires. It could be a ground wire, I suppose, but I'm not sure where all of those are, anyway. But I'll see if I find anything odd. Thanks!
Shortlid, that's what I was afraid of! I am thinking it's possible that it's a ground or other wire. I'm a total noob here and I'm trying to do this myself, as I'm trying to learn more about my car and taking care of it, so if I ask anything that's too much feel free to let me know, but if you can help me a bit more I'd appreciate it.
To check the wiring, do I have to check under the hood? Would the "ground" wires be under the hood or should I remove the heater control unit to check? Also, do you know where I can get a wiring diagram for a 95 accord? The one I have shows a 93 accord's and the 95 supplment I have still doesn't match up the fuseboxes exactly.
I have a multi-meter - if you have any advice for me on how to go about checking for shorts I'd appreciate it. If I'm asking too much, as I said earlier, just say so and I'll drop it - I appreciate your help so far, not trying to be a pain.
Anyone else reading this thread who can offer help, I'd appreciate it from anyone else as well!
Thanks!
