After market stereo
Go on one of prelude forums online and there is a free repair manual somewhere. The easiest way is to purchase a dash kit and a wire connector. It allows you to wire your aftermarket radio to a plug that plugs right into your stock one for much less hassle. I know I tried to do it from scratch the first time. It's a lot easier. How you remove the dash to get to it depends on your gen of prelude. I know how to on a 4th. Never done it on a 5th.
I think i will need the dash kit because i am taking the h/u off my 97 accord, it used the same kit, but i dont have the additional part i need. As for the wire hareness i have it wried up becuase the 5th prelude and my accord use the same wires.
Can you link me to some forums? i have been googleing it for a while, but can't seem to find a free one. I have also looked at the post on how to remove the dash on the 5th gen, but only little information on how to remove the stereo.

you just pop off the plastic cover that goes around the stereo, air conditioning/ heating controls.
pop it off using a piece of plastic. i used an orange peeler for mine. or if youre gutsy youse a screw driver. theres like about 6 clips that hold it in and they pop off.
and whalla. done. very simple.
