Default OBD1 Throttle Bodies compared to OBD2 Throttle Bodies.

noob question but i wanted to use my extra b16 throttle body but i found out that the FITV is different on my obd1 gsr or my obd1 ls throttle body.

the fast idle thermo valve is located on the bottom of the throttle body on obd1 and not sure where the obd2 ones are?....here some pics to show you

obd1 gsr throttle body

obd2 gsr throttle body

is it like built in or something?

OBD1 GSR had the FITV located on the throttle body.
OBDII GSR's, the FITV's job was delegated to the IACV which is located on the rear of the Intake Manifold.

so if i wanted to use an obd2 tb, i would have to use the obd2 iacv also?

NO, they are the same.

What is meant, is that the OBD2 ecus simply raise the cold idle electronically with the IACV instead of the mechanical FITV.

Which is more proof that you don't need an FITV at all. I've blocked them off and sealed them with a paper gasket on both of my cars, my Civic going on 3 years now. Looped the coolant line, bypassing the IACV as well.

When you don't use a FTIV with an OBD1 ecu, you will simply have a lower cold idle.
