i just installed new bushings and it did help some. however, there is play where the shift linkage bolts up to the bottom of the shifter itself. the small sleeve that fits inside. it seems to not be close enough to the sides, which leaves a space for the bottom of the shifter to move back and forth some. now if anyone can actually follow that and has any idea what im talking about haha, please let me know what you think

 

if it is an aftermark shifter then it should have come with a fat washer/spacer to go there so it would eliminate any extra space u might have. If now just put some washers there to take up the extra space so u wont have any play from side to side.

 

washers are a good idea actually. considering i just got done doing it and my hands are bleeding haha, im not doing it this second, but does anyone know the size washer i would need?

 

im not sure what size u need i just fit put some on there which are a little bigger than they should be and they rattle like a bitch on the highway but i dont have any play

 

not a big fan of putting up with rattling

 

so if i have that play with a oem shifter can i just find some washers to fill that gap and i should be slop free?
