Default ITR Tranny rebuild need parts etc.

I have read most of the posts about tranny problems, grinds, noises etc. I am not a rookie I know th trans is bad, and running gear oil or others thick fluid isnt going to work. So..........

Where do I get parts to rebuild my tranny? Syncros , and bearings, seals etc. I am sure there has to be a rebuild kit of some type. R trannys seem to go for 70-80 K and get weak. Where can I get the parts do do this or does anyone know a good place to send the tranny to?

I just ordered a set of GearSpeed brass 1/2 synchros and 3/4/5 carbon synchros for my spare ITR tranny.

Just from experience, the bearings on the input/output shafts rarely fail/wear. I would inspect them first before ordering the bearings, because most of the wear will be on the synchro sleeves.

You're joking, right? Input shaft bearing failure is common as all hell.

No joke here. I've never personally seen any sort bearing failure or even wear on the transmissions I've taken apart, which isn't a large amount by any means. I don't doubt what you are saying, but I am surprised it is as common as you make it out to be when its not often spoken about.

Anyhow, to the OP, it is easy to tell if there is severe/abnormal bearing wear simply by inspecting. Unless you are pressed for time during your rebuild, I would recommend taking a thorough look inside before ordering unnecessary parts.
