well I would say grip(since my car is FF) but I definitely like to drift if I would have FR car. sounds like you gotta nice ride. how often do you go to cannyon? what kind of tires are you using?
we normally do it in the backroads of the oakland-hills, i have a eg with kyb/adj springs and they do just fine... the rubbers are 205/40/r16.....toyo's
I really hope you guys don't actually canyon race. I can understand a quick drive through the mountians, I do it everyday on my drive home. But if your pushing your car to it's limits on a small windy 2 lane canyon road, you're an idiot. I've been driving through the canyons and seen people come around a blind curve halfway in my lane more than a few times. Not to mention all the loose dirt and gravel that falls onto the road.

around what time are you talking about? yeah I understand what you are saying though. but personally I don't push it to the limit. it's impossible at the cannyon may be at the circuit. also I see lots of people doing down hill and crash. if they are new to the cannyon I don't think it's a good idea. so you go to cannyons all the time but never push your car?
its called sepulveda pass after midnight. two lanes on each side. ive been traveling on that road my whole life since my grandma lives up there. its the only place i canyon race. then there is also a few malibu canyon roads which are one way that me and my frineds go all out on. we arent idiots and know what our cars can do.
here is a picture of the last run i went on. over a month now. the front s2k is gone now. he hit a wall cuz he is a moron ( not on a canyon run) the second one is my cuzins it is s/c'ed

sorry to hear about that yellow S2000. yeah I don't think everyone at the canyon is an idiot. I usually use 1 lane most of the time and sometimes 1.5 lane depends on the corners.

as a warning to everyone part two of fast and the furious is about canyon driving. the chp, sheriff and local police is craking down on these types of activities. and even more when the movies is released...
I dont care if you know your cars limits. Its not the car you have to worry about, it's the conditions. What happens when your racing on the track and you hit some marbles or some dirt and rocks that another car kicked up on the track when your in mid turn? You spin out, exact samething happens on canyons. Like I said before, you push your car to the limits anytime on the street, you're an idiot, especially in canyons with all the blind turns, I dont care if it's at 2am or 2pm, same damn thing. I never push my car to the limits on the canyons because I'm not stupid, I save full out racing for the track. The reason why I hate people who race through the canyons thinking they're bad *** is because some dumbshit did the samething and ran me off the road into a ditch, if the ground wasn't wet, my car would have flipped and I probably would have died.
well I'm not here to discuss about how dangerous to race in canyon and any motorsports are dangerous whether it's on the race track or the street.
I don't what kind of expeirence you had at the canyon but I guess it's not a good one. but I'm not gonna stop because some idiots get into an accident unless there would be a circuit that's gonna be in local area with $20 to run a half day or something. you can not be fast without practicing on your skills.

I dont think he's talking about drag-strips - take your canyon racing, initial D wannabe *** to a real track, ie. in your area Buttonwillow, etc. I am sure NASA does some sort of events out there, and the hybrid board also has some track events.
actually I started this to ask people who goes to canyon and make runs about their car specs or suspensions set ups. I'm not here to discuss about how dangerous the canyon racing is...
Whatever man, just stay away from Malibu, I take that way home everyday. I dont want to run into you or your friends going full out in the canyons. Why dont you just save up your money, drop $150 on a full day at a track and learn 10x more than you'll learn in 10 years of driving through the canyons. Trust me, I used to think that driving through the canyons everyday for a year made me a good driver. After going to the track and seeing some real drivers, I don't know ****.

I didn't even mean to say drag race. I've been to lots of track events also. it's just that if you love driving and want to improve on your skills, to me those events are not enough. at least at the canyon it's free to run.
another thing is that I didn't start going there because of the initial D...those are the poeple who usually crash their cars.
