External Coil vs. Stock
I searched a bit but didn't find any info on this.
I've been looking around for a new distributor cap, and all I've seen online is high performance caps that are set up for an external coil. Is the internal stock coil actually weak enough to justify making this change on a stock Civic LX, and if so, where is the best spot to wire the positive terminal to?

The stock ignition components are more than adequate, even for a decent built motor. There is no need to go with an external coil. You have to be pushing some pretty impressive numbers to overshoot the limits of your oem parts.
Is there anything wrong with the cheapy Champion distributor cap, or is it worth the money to go for a "premium" one? Looks like the Champion has metal terminals as opposed to brass on the "premium" ones.

I believe that the copper would have less resistance because of its conductive properties. I'm trying to remember chemistry class. Can anyone confirm this?
