i have a 97 civic ex and i had the check engine light turn on. it ran fine for a few days, but just today as i was driving an i was coming up on a stop light and as i almost made a complete stop, the engine started to tremble. not alot but noticeable. it felt like it wanted to stall on me. (it's an automatic by the way). i think it would have turned off but what kept it from stalling was i had to keep giving it gas. i put it in netrual and held the gas down till the light turned green and took off. it runs fine when accelerating but it did the same thing to me at the next stop light. i made it home turned the car off and back on, and it seems fine.

any idea what needs to be done or whats wrong

 

the engione died...time for a new 1..do a compression test
