Default Is this a good deal? Salvage/Flood titled 99 Integra GS.. $5,000?

Hello all,

I am interested in picking up a 99 Integra w/ 87,000 miles. Curious if it's a good deal/okay deal/bad deal.

99 Integra GS. 5 spd

I ran carfax and it showed:

Salvage title, Flood title
Frame damage
Odometer discrepany

Dented hood
normal door dings and scratches
A/C blows warm
No Radio
Minor Rust
Taillights condensation

I test drove the car today, and it drove fine. Car drives straight, brakes are good. Guy wants $5,000 for it. Seems high to me... what is a good offer?

i would pay 2500

i found a 01 LS clena body salvage from theft and it drove great for 3300

you said it had minor rust....
flooded + minor rust = more rust to come

thats not likely. i'd offer 4 and leave it if not...its got a lot of problems (the ones you mentioned are easy fixes, besides rust) the real question is do you want to save a little cash and have to deal with problems?

I would find another car. IMO a car that has Salvage title,Frame damage and Odometer discrepany is not worth anything. Any money you put in that car is a waste.

a lot of times carfax will say frame damage just because the car has a salvage title. both of my integra's have repaired titles due to theft, yet both show up with an accident in their histories. carfax can't really be taken literally, it's just a reference to give you an idea of the car's past.

if thats the case, carfax should be a little more careful on how they label cars. i think alot of people look to carfax when buying a car, and because of how they label a car, may deter someone from buying a good car. i mean a stripped interior vs frame damage?

Hell no, I would'nt even pay half that. A theft recovery title is one thing... a car with a flood title is another.

Thanks everyone. What are the chances that it is flooded + salvage + odometer discrepancy?? rare, i say. All it needs not is for someone to steal it to complete the checklist.

I am thinking about buying the car and just drive it til it dies.. then sell it as parts. What cha think, $3000?

Or just stay the hell from it?

A past full of accidents, and water and god knows what else. So why even do a carfax if you don't trust it? Have a mechanic look at the car and they can give you a better judgement than us.
