Default That was a close one!! I need to get serious about security...

I built this car on a budget that never included a nice alarm. I have a garage where I park it over night, and used to park the car right out in front of my office where I could keep an eye on it during the day.

Well, I started a new job and started parking it at a park & ride. I tried to park it as close to the train tracks as possible, since trains come every 10 minutes and there are always a lot of people getting on and off.

I guess that didn't stop some punk from breaking into my car and stealing my stereo. I was really happy though that he came in through the door, didn't break any of my glass, and didn't steal any of the gauges sitting on my dash. lol

Check out the aftermath.

So I finally am getting around to putting some security measures in place. I was really lucky this time that they didn't get the car.

I've already installed a few kill switches, and need to install an alarm this weekend. What alarm would you guys recommend? I don't need any fancy features, I don't have power anything. I just need something that makes noise when someone messes with my car.

Any suggestions?

Sorry about your luck, but there's a sticky at the top for you to read.

Just about any question you have can be answered in the security thread at the top of this forum. If you are asking for a recommendation then I would say a Viper 350HV or Clifford Matrix 1 since you don't want to spend alot. But a two-way system is well worth the extra money.

But the thing is, Even if you still have a top notch alarm system. It will not protect the your personal property in the car. A alarm was never mint to. What happen was a crime of opportunity. I have a killer system on my teg and it did not stop a theif from smashing my window and grabbing my monster tach. I hope you did not leave the face on the radio.
