Check out this article by a guy who is an avid autocrosser and also has worked as a shock engineer for a racing team. Also check out the other Autocross info on that site.

His conclusion? Pretty much everything out of Japan is crap. His choices are Bilstein, Penske, Koni, and Ohlins, in that order. Pretty interesting read on what shock adjusters really do (or don't do).

No Mention On KYB's. Im planning on gettin a set of agx's for my prelude, A couple of my friends have them with no complaints. Anyone comment on them? or should I spend the extra 150$ to get tokicos ?

I highly recommend Koni Sports. I have nearly 150,000 miles on mine and they still work great.

Actually, he never says anything about order. He probably made it a bulleted, and not a numbered list, for a reason.

I wish he would have stayed in the discussion and not left the thread though. I would have loved to pick his brain some more.

he did have bilstein on the top. sounded like he had a hardon for them.
(easy to get parts, field serviceable, and each model was valved very consistantly to each other)
if you look on the farnorth website and look at the setup on the DSM car, it shows what he was using. Shocktech (custom shocks using mostly bilstein parts). and how they machined parts for the shock after Shocktech went out of business.
it also went thru the explaination of converting the bilsteins to remote resorvoir external compression adjustables.
