F22C1 pistons in a JDM 93-95 H22A1 V-tec engine
Has anyone ever used F22C1 S2000 pistons in their prelude? If you did let me know, or if you know of any other parts from different hondas that could be used on this engine to make it better let me know.
I have been thinking about this for a long time. I guess it most likely depends on the pin size. Most likely you would need to use the rods out of an H22a4 with the .864 wrist pin. Also you would have different valve angles, probably not too drastic of a change though. I would assume the F22Cs use the same deck height/rod length/comp combo, you might want to double check on that though. Also keep in mind the F22C head is going to be alot smaller than the h22 head so your CR wont be 11:1 so it would most likely be cheaper and more effective to just buy type-s pistons, but if you were able to find some for a good price it might be worth a try, not to mention they should be a little stronger, maybe?
UPDATE: a quick google search reveals my initial assumption was incorrect. It appears the h22 has an 8.643" deck height, and the f22c has an 8.815" deck height So there is a good chance that the compression height is different. It will take more research to verify that
