Cable transmission to hydro transmission swap
I'm putting a B18c5 motor and trans in my 99 ls integra and I need more information on swapping the cable tranny to the hydro tranny. I've tried searching and theres quite a few posts about hydro to cable and not what I need.
Who sells a conversion kit from cable to hydro?
Is a cable transmission a better tranny to use then a hydro tranny? And if so, would there be a way to use the type r hydro tranny and swap it to cable?

i dont know much, but just buy a hydro tranny. Its probably less effort and cheaper.
there is about a million topics. Your just waiting to get flammed.

i am buying a hydro tranny. The type r tranny is hydro and my understanding is that the b18b tranny is cable. So I'm just wondering if I can convert the type r tranny to work with my cable car or if theres a cable to hydro conversion kit for my cable car to work with the hydro tranny.
By the way, I dont really mind if people flame me. I have come the the realization that some of these people look for increasing there post sizes by being complete expletive tards to the people on here who are interested in learning about their cars and hope to find some useful answers from the fellow honda community. I just think it would be nice that some of these "hot-shot" know it alls understand that not everyone has unlimited knowledge like them and that I do know where the search button is. But unfortunately, the incompetence of these people will never be compromised and there are some things we must put up with in our search for a higher understanding of these vehicles

That "understanding" is wrong.
ALL Integras 94-01 have a hydro operated clutch. Engines - B18B1, B18C1, B18C5
ALL Integras 86-93 have a cable operated clutch. Engines - D16A1, B18A1, B17A1
You said in your first post you have a 99 Teg. IE - you have a hydro clutch.
EDIT - To split hairs.... It is not a "hydro trans". The hydraulics have nothing to do with the trans, only the clutch. It is a hydro clutch.

bear with me, I'm at school right now and I can't get back to my house for another week or so. I'm positive the block is b18a1 but I'm not sure whether the owner before me used the stock b18b transmission or if he used the b18a transmission.
I guess it wouldn't make much since for him to convert the car to cable if he already had the hydro tranny for the car.
Anyways, thanks for the answers, it helped clear up a lot

if you have a cable tranny it should have a gold sticker on it and if it a hydro tranny it should have a vin number on it...but if you do have a cable tranny in a hydro car you can get the hasport cable to hydro conversion.

well bottom line, I'm going to have the type r transmission in my car. I guess I was just wondering if I needed to convert my current cable setup to hydro or if I could leave it how it is and just swap in the new tranny.
wow I'm really post whoring this thread, but Wraith_G2IC, thank you for clearing up that its a hydro clutch and not a hydro tranny. Once again, I'm just trying to learn everything while I can.
Again, if the car, is a 94-01 (you said it is a 99), it won't matter what engine you have the engine bay should have all the lines and MC for the original hydro clutch. If the previous owner converted it and removed all the parts, then you can just go to the junkyard or the classified section and get the original hardlines, MC, and slave cyl. Not hard.

well I have Baught a 99 Integra GS four-door boosted. It was automatic and the old owner replaced it to manual, it has a cable transmission a B 18b1 non vtec Frankenstein motor. And I bought it how it was I spent a little bit of money for subs and an amp got a battery I was going to do AC, to much money lol. So I have some ac parts I could return. But my clutch went out like three weeks ago dead to the ground I have no fluid in the clutch reservoir. And when I bought it it had a spring on the cable transmission Like the fork that goes up and down I had a sprain wear the cable would go if u had one. But I don’t really know how they set up the master slave it’s kind a weird to me because like they rigid the slave cylinder so. At the time I asked this mechanic that was working on my car that I trusted he was a good person not only that he did good work do you know what I would have to do and he said I had a buy a Hydro transmission so I did well I bought one and I’m wondering what else I need to install it like do I just have to buy the master slave cylinder and then that’s it. If you have any answers please answer
