Recently i have decided to rebuild my engine this summer with a mechanic friend of mine.
I have the money, the spare car and the time and the need.

Anyways.
First off i have an h23
I am not looking to make it more powerful unless it would be just slightly more expensive to do so while i have the engine out.

i am trying to come up with a parts list on things ill need, and possibly start generating ideas from people as what might be the best course of action to do during this engine rebuild..

Parts list -
engine seals kit -
new pistons
new rods
new valves
hone the block
new clutch
new tranny
timing belt while its off
water pump
powersteering, everything accessible.


thats about all i can think of, i hope this all doesnt run me too much money i have about a grand.
please tell me what i might need to add in, or what i can live without


possible upgrades at this time :
Raise compression
New cams? (may be too expensive, and here in billings montana i dont know anyone who can tune the car after i did that )
better pistons
better valves
maybe a better rod?

what other things might i do?
