***99-00 si cluster question***
ok so i bought a 99-00 si gauge cluster for my civic. is it true that the gauge is supposed to glow red? its weird ok, the tach and temp/fuel gauge glows red but the speedo glows white/amberish. i thought ok its got wrong or bad bulb in it. i got to work (honda dealership) get wat i think it the right bulb and the speedo still glows the amber color. did i put the bulb in wrong place. heres a pic of the back of the cluster i put the bulb in the most upper, center, grey housing (not black) keep in mind im tryin to get to the bulb that controls lighting for the speedo.
there are three main bulbs and the rest are smaller. The three main bulbs should have a blue condom on them, if not then someone must have changed them out.
o, ya so those blue ones are the correct ones? how does blue condom make it glow red? i saw those and told parts they werent right ones...
ok so im going to replace all the bulbs to light the cluster red, which bulbs need to be replaced according to my pic??

i dont quite remember which ones they are without looking at the front and back simultaneously. Turn your lights off, take a bulb out and turn the lights back on to see where its missing on the cluster. Process of elimination should get you there eventually.

It's because I don't think he's right.
The ones with blue condoms over them create white light. Take out the bulbs that are indicated on the back of the cluster with a grey housing, these light the cluster up. Check the filaments, if one is bad or something doesn't look right, replace.

Depends
For the 99-00 gauge cluster, the bulbs have blue condoms, and the amber lighting is provided by the white light against an orange transparent film. The climate control has no film, and orange condoms! funny, isnt it.
They should all have blue condoms for the cluster, pull them out and see which doesnt belong

All Si clusters have blue condoms. The gauge faces themselves make the light output amber. If you take each gauge out and look at the layered material that it's made out of, it's orange, while any other lower trim Civic is blue.
