It depends how strict they are? Where I live, if they can't get a data port reading, then they test the tail pipe with a gas analyzer like they used too before obd2 came along. As long as you have a Cat. converter you should pass with obd1 through the tail pipe! good luck

It's an OBDIIB car, it must have an OBDIIB ECU for the diagnostic program to read. You will not pass.

Ya it depends on your state.
If you state needs to read the obd2 computer then you will fail.

If YOU can't I'm sure a competent Honda mechanic can.

Ummmm, ... yeah.

Good luck.

If I can remember right...... I helped my lil brother run a B16B motor in his 99' Si...... and what we did was add a new oil pump, crank angle sensor, crank t-belt gear and a second O2 sensor. Then we used a obd1 ecu with a jumper harness..... depending on what engine harness ur using.... u may need to add the O2 and Crank angle sensor plug and wires and run them to the ecu? then when emission time rolled around..... we pluged the 99' Si ecu back in!

I suggest u do it or spend the money to have it done.... you only have to do it once as opposed to emissions every few years! pass and play....
