I see that ebay is the cheapest place to get OEM hardtops. Honda dealers sell them on there for about 2800 shipped. I have a 00 BB. Anyway...they only sell the 07 hardtops. What the hell is the difference? I have a berlina black..so im assuming its the same black from 00-07. Are there mounting differences or anything like that. Something that the earlier models dont have that the 07s do?
I dont believe that the tops are any different...alot of things that fit all models appear discontinued for older models just b/c of the year...so for peace of mind just check the part numbers...but im pretty sure they are the same

yeah i think you're right. all signs point to that it will fit just fine. a lot of colors changed or were dicontinued in 06 or 07 i think. I think that silver was different, as well as yellow and red, and ofcourse suzuka was replaced with laguna blue or whatever it's called. So i think i should be fine if im buying Berlina.

the mount kit you get depends on the year of your s2000. there are 3 different type's I believe. A, B, and C. The honda dealer should let you know what kit you need if you give them your MY or VIN.

Just curious but for those of you with hardtops do you ever drive top down anymore? I would hate to have to remove/install it all the time!
The best part of the s2000 is the drop top in my humble opinion so I would never put a lid on the car...what a waste

They are all the same...if your dealer sells hardtops for "every year"...that just means they're selling the newest ones and applying them to all years cuz they all fit.
@S4play...if i had a hardtop, I'd drive top down 3/4 of the year, then slap the hardtop on in the winter

check out the description, if it never mention "FREE mounting kit" then sorry, you have to fork out some hundred dollar for some stupid bracket.
i saw someone make a mounting bracket with homedepot cart wheel, it was sad

They come with everything
They come with everything
The Top and Hardware will work with all years, you just wont get the defroster working for older cars, (you need extra hardware for that which newer cars came with). The defroster really isn't necessary unless you live somewhere where it gets really cold. For older cars you may want to get newer front catchers that mount on the winshield frame because the newer ones are stronger and the older ones may give you alil air leak.

Cool, that's kinda the suspicion i had too. lol there's a lot of different information flying around here, though. I cant imagine the actual mounting points being different between the different chassis. I dont really care about the defro, as i will never use it. My car gets stored in the winter. I allready got the 2 front strikers as a result of my soft top's wind noise annoying-ness.
