Advice for sway bars for a novice
I have a stock 1995 LS integra that i am building a suspension for. I do not have any track experience and don't have the feel to make a decision as to what i want from a car as far as under and oversteer and a nuetral set-up., I assume since I don't have that feel and experience, I would go for a nuetral set-up. Is this the wrong way to look at it? I have a Type R rear sway bar and want to know what a novice drive should choose for a front sway bar or to stay with the 1994-2001 Integra LS 22mm. I do appreciate the help on how a FWD car should be set up for a novice driver.
stay with the stock front sway and the ITR rear bar
drive the car and learn it. you can always make little adjustments to dial in some oversteer or understeer. tire pressures, rebound adjustment.
in the future when you are comfortable with the handling, you may decide to ditch the front bar all together, or go with something a bit smaller. but i personally wouldn't go bigger then 22mm up front.
one of my cars is a 92 civic lx 4 door. (fairly close to your integra in terms of weight/wheelbase)
no front sway
22mm rear ITR bar w/ spherical links (welded on adjustment plate on each side)
450f/400r with Koni Yellows.
i'm happy with the setup for DD and autox. it rotates on demand, but is still very managable.
