i'm looking for a 2 channel amp i can bridge for an 8 inch sub i plan to run. clarion amps are advertised as bridgeable but only for their high end models

can i bridge lower end 2 channel amps? do amps like doing this in the first place? i'm looking for about 200rms total.

No.

I betcha they're not. I'm sure their amps might be bridgeable, however, subs are not bridgeable.

The answer depends on how the amp is designed. Now way to oficially say without cracking it open.

Just because they dont say bridgeable doesn't mean its not able to. There is nodifference beteen powering on a single channel or a "bridged" channel.

The amp will put out more power for a given impedence. More power=more heat.

You could run into problem with load impedence. If the amp shuts off at one impedence double it and you will be fine. But then you loose the benifits of bridgeing.

Best way to check is just try it.

thank you nsxxtreme... few people are aware of this... ive bridged more than my fair share of non-bridgeable amps in the past... and mono amps to each other that werent listed as linkable...

odds are fairly high that a modern day name brand amp will be bridgable.. I would be willing to take a chance on this if the price fit my budget...
