bad news, my rs motor blew
What should i do?
Install same 95 b18b bare motor cheaper for 500$ buy seperate non-oem clutch/ reface flywheel while im there, so prolly 1000$ for car to run
pick car up from garage with trailer, put SIR in with old B18b tranny and buy new clutch, motor comes with cpu, downpipe, wiring, supports, sensor, axles no tranny(couldnt use them for now til i find SIR tranny) 1200$ + stock clutch, so.. 1600$ if its all compatible? is b18b tranny compatible with SIR motors?
pick car up from garage with trailer, put used b18b with 2000 SIR tranny, shift linkage, axles, new ITR OEM flywheel & clutch, timing belt and water pump? 1600$
same motor, ready to run...
which i knew how to do poll, oh well, any help is appreciated
why not just use the 1600 or so ( depending on the parts u want) and build urself a nice clean new motor? or even a b20 setup. that would be good start
well it all depends on what he wants to do and what parts is gonna be using. its very possible to do a machining job for 1600. u figure for bore, hone, deck, shot peened resize rods, hot tank, polish crank, a couple of other lil things. run u about 800-1000. leaves u about 600-800 for lets say o/s p73 get a valve job done and replace all the gasket/seals and such. should be right about the 1600 mark. of course assuming u assemble everything and replace the other stuff belts on your own . im just saying its not much more to build a kick @ss motor and get better results with about the same amount of cash. ive built a few beat down b18b for about 1800-2200. just all depends on what he wants to do
ok thanks, cuz i dont know, id really like to have a vtec, but i would also like to have a buildup with CTR pistons, new rods, balanced crank, regular or cheap aftermarket valves i guess.. i was thinking of buyind a b16a and putting it in my DC2, do you think i would be happy with the pull, im not into torque as much as high end... it's 1.6 liter with gas prices soaring, i dunno, will i haul any *** with a SI motor, or just be deceived by the pull u think? IU have 3 months to to the build
