Default 225 series on a 7'' rim?

I am thinking about getting a set of 225 40 16 for my Teg. They will be mounted on 16x7 Rota Slipstreams.

Anyone have experience with a 225 tire on a 7'' rim?

What tire will be better
KUMHO ECSTA SUPRA 712 or
Falken Ziex ZE-512

OR

should I go with a 215 45 16 - Falken Azenis RT-615

I'm sure it'll fit. I've seen crazier combinations work. Your tire mounter just might not be happy.

The Azenis will be the grippiest of the tires you list, but won't last as long as the others. Another tire to consider is the Kumho SPT. It's very nice in the rain.

Do you think the 215 Azenis would give better traction than the other 2 in 225?

I agree with JustinHoMi.

Remember, the big variable in performance is how sticky the tire is, not the treadwidth. If you're looking for better performance, concentrate on getting better, stickier tires, rater than wider tires. You're comparing two slightly wider, absolutely crappy tires with a tire that is slightly narrower but the stickiest street tire you can buy. This choice is a no-brainer. Get the Azenis.
