I have a co worker whos car broke down, she has a 96 civic with a auto trans, and the mechanic said the "gear shaft" will have to be replaced 800$. I was wondering if anyone knows what the gear shaft is? Is it a common name for something else? or did my co worker misunderstand the mechanic. The reason i ask she is a single mother and where we work we do not make big bucks. i have swapped a b16 in my 88 rex so i am capable and have the tools to do just about anything as long as its not in the trans, i just need to know what a "gear shaft" is. thanks
