most ppl that buy a honda buy it cause they can't afford better.. haha k-series is hardly affordable. Boost and tune your current engine.. Call it good.

yeah no prob.. K-series is a great way to go if u have $$.. Don't keep the auto if you boost or swap.. It sucks and the turbo will tear the auto tranny up..

if you plan on keeping it automtic. just throw on simple bolt-ons like intake, header, and exhaust.

keeping it automatic is the worst thing for performance. the first thing needs to be a 5 speed swap. what kind of motor is in th car now?

For more power,.....turn off your a/c.

Don't mod this car, unless its for MPG. It's futile.

Everybody loves the sound of a loud *** exhaust on an automatic honda, so you can always do that, NDFS !!!

yeah do what he said.......dont waste your time trying to mod the automatic. instead of buying an exhaust you can just cut your muffler off for a louder sound. it will sound faster atleast.

throw on a turbo kit. 1000-1400.00 for one depending on either greddy kit, or custom. run 14.0 or sometimes faster all day long and you will be happy. if your not looking to spend that much money, then dont worry about modding the civic. automatics without boost are a waste of money.

He emphasizes he wants to keep it automatic and you suggest a K swap?...obviously its gonna require a 5/6 spd tranny.

As long as you build that automatic transmission up, you will be able to boost it. Autos actually boost fairly well to an extent. It holds the pressure a little longer, however its only a matter of time until that tranny will go.

What?

If you're trying to increase gas mileage, modding the car is hardly the way to go. Honda built/tuned all of their motors with efficiency in mind...good luck trying to gain "better" gas mileage in attempts to outsmart them w/ intakes or exhausts that supposedly increase gas mileage.

I know one thing, and that i certainly do not like the sound of loud exhausts on Civics/tegs/ludes, its obnoxious.

This would def be the best suggestion on this entire thread.

If its the stock EG hatch (CX) it will be the D15b8 motor....absolutely pointless to boost this motor.

Plain and simple...if you want performance, swap it. (motor and tranny)

I'm surprised nobody's suggested a b18b auto swap.... should be fairly cheap, fairly easy to do and gain 70 hp over a d15b8...

B18 auto swap, if you MUST keep it auto.

Otherwise, K series swap or maybe some other B series with a 5spd swap and hopefully a turbo.
