Default How do I install a 95 accord? A Few Other Questions Too...

Whats the easist way to install a CAI in my 95 accord? Do I need to take my bumper off? Is there a write up anywhere?

I had a SRI but I live in AZ so its too hot for one, but I miss the power and sound of it. I was thinking about getting a ebay intake but putting a K&N on it.

It rarley rains in AZ, but when it does, it rains pretty hard, is a CAI a bad idea then or what?

i don't know exactly how to install a 95 accord.

but for your CAI you don't need to take off your bumper, just the wheel.

if you're worried about water with the CAI, just get the bypass valve too.

You need to take it off if you haven't already removed the resonator as it's a tough reach to undo one of the bolts.

BUmper doesn't take but 5 minutes to take off however so I wouldn't worry about doing that.

i would not take off the bumper. just take off your passenger wheel and then pull out your fender lining and you can go from there. there is a sticky on how to do it in the FAQ. its for the short ram but same process.

Is the resonator the stock intake?

Resonators are like air tunnels that quiet the air coming in, the stock intake has like 4 or so of them.

The one I"m referring to is a large one behind the passenger turn signal held in by 2 10mm bolts.

The inside bolt can be an absolute pain to get if you don't take off the bumper.

I did it originally with the bumper on and it's not a blast.

I know under my stock air box, there is two pieces of black plastic, how do I get those out? Is that the resonators?

Can I just run the CAI piping through that spot where those are?

that's what I'm referring to, that's one of the resonators.

there's another hanging underneath the pipe, the weird dohicky that flaps over the battery and some others

You're supposed to remove the resonator down there for your CAI otherwise it won't fit.

Like I said there's 2 10mm bolts holding that in and the easiest way to get it out is to take off the bumper

How do I take my bumper off?

So with a bypass valve, that hooks on to a CAI right? And that prevents water from getting into my engine?

Noob? Ive been on HT longer than you, so if anything your a "noob"

Your very helpful smallpox33, your a typical messege board member, if someone doesnt know as much about cars as you, they are automatically a "noob". Your pathetic. And I bet you have one of those loud fartcan exhaust on your little civie don't you?

I am more into my truck than my car, thats why I come to sites like this for help, I don't know crap about these little japanese engines, I am ore of a 454 big block kind of guy.

So I will ask this again, How do I remove my front bumper, if you not going to be helpful, don't even waste your time. Thanks to those who have been helpful so far.

no, this is 2007 not 1997, installing a cai might have been a challenge then, but its not the fact that your "new" with cars, youve said it yourself youve been here 2 years. thats along time in the car world. i was dropping in my b series at this time.

its the fact that you dont use your brain or common sense or searching (not just honda tech!) to install a ******* CAI!

your pathetic, because you want it handed to you...

I did search, why else would I have posted here? Your pretty sad, arguring over the internet. I already said don't post unless you have something helpful to say, really shows how mature you are kid.

How is asking how to install something correctly asking for it to be handed to me, if I wanted it handed to me I would pay some auto mechanic to install it for me.

You think your some know it all hot shot cocky sack of ****, well congrats, you may have fooled others, but your just an *******, trying to look cool on the internet. I am actually clapping for you right now. Seriously.

I will ask again, do not post here unless you have something useful to post, with all the time you just wasted, you could have posted up how to correctly install a cai, and actually been helpful, but nooooo your too cool for that arent you.

If you have anything to say that isnt helpful, take it up via the PM system on here.

Thanks.

by the time youve read this, you could have already installed it.

jack the car up on the passenger side and take the wheel off.
remove your wheel well on the passenger side its just held in by screw clips, and rip that airbox out, thier are some bolts holding it in, but it doesnt matter if you brake the box taking it ou, its only in your way. so dont worry about getting to the hard to reach bolts or whatever

its wise to put the wheel well back on, because youll get less debris, but also less airflow, and it will protect you more from rain.

i dont have wheel wells though.

Yes brilliant, break stuff off when you have no reason to, I'm glad you didn't install a CAI in my car.

Bumper is held on by four 14mm bolts - two on each side -that can be access through your turn signals (remove them with a phillips head from the lower grill)

Also there is a 10mm bolt on either side of the bumper holding the lip on, it's the second one from the end of the lip, removing that will free up the wheel well lining and let you pull it back.

Above that at the top of the bumper where it meets the fender is a phillips screw, remove those and lift up and out on the bumper (easiest to take out the top grill and pull up there)

Doing that will let you pull off the bumper and the bumper cover giving you free access to all of it

Process only takes me like 5 minutes

It should be fairly obvious how to go from there

dont need to take the bumper or the wheel off. just remove the inner fender lineing and turn the steering wheel to full lock to the right. itll drop right out.

if you dont take the wheel or bumper off you are gonna have to bust off one of the mounting tabs on the lower air box
