Default Hypothetically Speaking?

I already know I'll get tons of crap for this, but hypothetically speaking would it be even remotely possible to: Swap for a Mazda Wankel Engine? Preferably a 13B-REW. I know this sounds just really silly, but me and a buddy were discussing how it would be cool to own an old rotary engine. So any help would be greatly appreciated, especially sense I've got five bucks riding on this bet.

Thanks.

sure I guess, anything is possible with enough money.

It would require a lot of custom fabrication, time and money.

Worth it? No, not in my opinion.

If you want a car with a rotary engine, get a rx7 or something.

No, your right I totally agree. Not worth it at all, but it would be a cool thing. Thanks for the help, and thanks for helping me win 5 bucks thats like a 1 1/2 gallons.

You can do anything with enough money. I was thinking of swapping a 2JZ into my 98 Accord...convert it to RWD. But do I have $5g+? No...it would be badass, but not logical. But sure, you could swap a Mazda rotary into an Accord.

That Supra motor would be sick. I'm not actually planning on doing this, just wanted to see if could be remotely possible.

Thanks

98savage near the Parkland/Spanaway area?

I really don't think people think these things through.

To buy an H22 motor which is almost a direct swap into our accords is roughly 2000 for the motor/tranny

IF you pay a shop for install you're looking at 1000-2000 more

4000 ALONE for a almost direct swap motor.

A conversion like that if you pay a shop is like eleventy billion dollars.

If you can fab up stuff yourself there's not really any limit.

Kinda off topic, but MuffinMan, when you said eleventy billion that made me think of a funny story when I was talking to my sister one time I said something about 'a quintillion' something or other and she's like 'is that even a number' and I'm like 'yeah, duh, it's the same as five.......tillion'

Yea, it would be pretty sick.

Yep, live in Spanaway...where are you at?

It actually wouldn't be that much money to swap....considering the engine fits into the bay. I can get the H22 motor installed, along with the auto to manual swap for only $750.....to convert to RWD with the 2JZ - probably $2000

If you know people it's a bit different, I know for a fact 90% of the shops around me now will charge at least 1000 for a h22 swap (not including engine)

Like I posted in the other thread that's almost dead on like this, there's a civic with 2 engines, that can run RWD/FWD/AWD Just money is an issue

Too bad the 4wd civic wasn't more popular, if there were aftermarket parts for that it would make a mean road racer/sleeper if you built it up.

I haven't looked for a while but try googling for "small block accord".

One of the problems you run into with any FWD to RWD swap is the length of the engine bay, the lack of a driveshaft tunnel, and a rear body structure that's not setup for an axle assembly to go across.

It is a lot of fab work to complete.

googled it and didn't find anything. That would be great if you could get a link. The only thing remotely interesting on the results was a 300zx with a 454.

I'll see if I can find it when I get home tonight. I can't use any search engines at work.

It's a 4th gen coupe with a SBC in it. It's been on ebay a couple of times.

You know - nobody actually brought up the fact that you could make it a rear mount engine. Of course, there would be a lot of custom fab to that too....but take a small motor for example - from an old MR2. That **** would fit in the trunk of a 6th gen.

Not really a hook up....there are a lot of tuner shops around here - you just have to go by a lot and have some work done to your car at their regular shop price. Talk to them a bit and they will cut you deals. I'm working on getting sponsored.

You go to the Tacoma Mall KK or the one in Puyallup? Kent is pretty boring these days...and the cars at the Tacoma Mall are weak.

Or just swap in a FWD Caddy V8 setup. The possibilities are endless if you have the $ or the fab skills and tools. I know a guy that builds custom street rods. I've seen him build an entire body from scratch. So I know that anything is possible.

Totally off topic at this point but yeah I used to visit the Tacoma Mall, but I grew tired of the attitudes of alot of people. I don't know names, but I was tired of being asked if I wanted to "run". No not really considering my car is stock.

But Puyallup KK is looking more and more promising. I heard a couple guys in the Redmond/Bothell/Woodinville area meet up.?

Back on topic, I like the idea of a rear mount engine. Except it would be a pain in the ***. Literally the back seats would need to be taken out or moved.?
