so i want to do lowerings springs and i want a nice drop but not to much to the point were im going through tires like a bitch so
im wondering if a 2 inch drop would still be safe still its for a 93 hatchback

Well then GET THE CAR ALIGNED. When you drop a car even 2 inch's it changes the toe and the camber settings. The toe setting being off will really eat your tires then add in the camber being out of whack also and you will be going through tires like you have been.

Camber won't make that big of a deal. You need to get it aligned and tell them to zero the toe.
You'd have to be dropped like 4" for camber to make a big difference in tire wear.
it's your toe maing.

get an alignment and you should be set, the toe is what eats your tires, camber has little effect, if you need more help, head to the suspension forum and look for Tyson or someone else

Even with a 2.5" drop camber won't effect tire wear.
Lowering your car AT ALL can expletive up your toe. Having a tire leaning sideways is a lot better than tires like this \ /
