Default Where to mount the sensors for my gauges?

I'm wondering what everybody else did? I'd rather not use an adapter plate for the oil temp. and pressure since i plan to get a mocal adapter plate with a thermostat for an oil cooler. And i don't wan't to use two plates before the filter.
I have a b16 and the turbo feed line is from the stock pressure sensor. Where do i put the new pressure sensor and temp sensor?

Temp. sensor

Pressure sensor

I cut a water house and taped it with a "T" fitting. Then clamp it down.

As for the oil PSI unit. I'm not sure if it's to big to plug into the back of your block.

I tapped water temp into the little bleed port on the water neck and the oil pressure into the allen plug under the water neck in the head.

I think his talking about oil temp not water.

Really hard to explain what i did so heres a picture. The feed is coming from the oil pressure sender.

I thought on doing it this way. First from the block i'd have the pressure, then the temperature sensor and then the oil feed for the turbo. I was just sceptic about it holding its own weight i mean it sticks out of the block like 6".

Is this a reliable method?

do not do what is in that picture. it will snap off in the block. harmonic vibration and the extra length of that unit and weight on the thread will put extra stresss and it could break

the correct way is to use a oil line from the hole on the back of the block and then run it to a sending unit and and temp sensor mounted on the firewall.

i hope it makes sense. its hard to explain with out a picture

Wow Wow first off that T that i made was never heard the block. If you look the fitting thats on the right sticking down gets run a Stainless Steel Line from the block. I got a couple of little brackets and bolted it to the firewall. If you actually look at the back of the block you could see that something this big couldnt even fit back there.

Now it would be interesting to see how did you mount it on the firewall?

Ran longer with no problem then the motor did (it blew) if that means anything. Im going to redo this setup again with this new motor. The T feed line was a Stainless line that was direct fitted to that fitting then clamped down for extra meause.

If you're running in oil cooler, why not use a pressure gauge dapter like this
http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku. They make them in 6 and 8 AN fitting. When you run the lines for your oil cooler, just insert two of these fittings.

the fittings are nice, but the idea is no good. If i have the thermostat on the adapter plate and the fittings placed somewhere after that it would only measure things when the thermostat is open and the oil going through the cooler.

On those firewall setups am i not seeing the temperature sensor?
Edit: it's o.k. i now see it on the far right, the red cable is going there.

Hmm, all the oil thermostats I've seen are remote. Do you have a link to the adapter plate with a built in thermostat?

Never mind I found it. http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/mocal.htm All the way near the bottom

Now i'd like to know what is a good way to hook up those same sensors for fuel pressure? And water temperature?

I'm seriously interested on what to do with fuel pressure?

What type of fuel pressure gauge do you have? Alot of people put it either on the fuel filter or on there fuel rail.

Under the upper radiator hose water neck there should be a little hex plug. Remove it and it will be the same pitch as your water temp sensor (electrical).

Thank you very much! I'm o.k. with the water tem. now but still i'd prefer fuel pressure from the fuel rail it's just that i'm not sure how to hook it up on the fuel line?
I'm using the same sensor as pictured above.

I havent seen an electric fuel pressure gauge. If the sensor is as big as the oil pressure then i suggest getting a T and trying to Ting it off the fuel filter some how.

Thanks for the help, i was told that these big sensors can be mounted on or to the fuel line, so i hope someone can chime in with some experience.
I'll check for some T's at the local hardware store.

What threads are on this T's ? I don't have my feed line here to check the thread on the T that i had on there and i want to have someone make me something similar to this T combination but i need to know what threads for the oil lines to make.

Thanks!
