Default Injector resistor box?

I am planning on swapping in a Z6 into my 88 DX. I have to convert to mpfi, and I plan on using OBD1 injectors. Will I need to run an injector resistor box if I use OBD1 injectors? I plan on using rywire for about everything else. I have the engine harness for the Z6, is it hard to pin in the rest of the wires (for the vtec solenoid, blah blah blah), or should I just spend the cash and get the subharness?

If you're running obd1 injectors then you don't need the resistor box. I personally haven't seen the rywire harness but I can't see it to be any different than let say something made by Hasport (what I used)...You're actually just paying for convenience so if you're not the wrencher type and can afford the price tag, then i would suggest buying a plug and play conversion.

If you want to run the OBD-1 Saturated Injectors then you need to remove the resistor box. You don't have to use the OBD-1 Injectors though. Some people are misinformed that you have to use injectors that match the ECU... Not true. Unless you have a reason to swap in the OBD-1 Injectors (ie. Older ones are shot) then I wouldn't bother with the work.

yes very true, only time you need the resister box, is when you run peak and hold injectors.... if you want to upgrade, h22 vtec from the 98 preludes are a great for use with the resister box.. of course you will need to run the obd2 injector clips..

The reason why I want to run the obd1 injectors is because I have them. I got the motor, ecu and dizzy for free. The engine still has it's harness on it. I would perfer to use the free injectors over buying new ones.

OBD0 Injectors are pretty much free...should be able to easily find them for under $20, it will save you a headache and wiring work just keep the resistor box...and if you ever to go turbo DSM injectors are cheap and swap right in since they are also peak and hold

Edit: If it ain't broke, Don't fix it!! Why make extra work? and if you really care peak and hold injectors are better than saturated(Honda OBD1 +) the peak and holds acctually open and close quicker than the saturated
