Default d16a6 pistons in z6 block? possible

i have a good z6 block which needs one rod and piston.. and i have a shot a6 block with new piston rings on all 4 pistons... so i was thinkin of taking all the 4 a6 rods and pistons and putting them in the z6 block .. would this work? i think the stroke and bore is the same right? what about bearing clearances? are they the same spec for each motor or no? id use only the pistons and rods and end caps from the a6 and use the z6 crank and all that..

yes they will work, just plastiguage it to make sure your clearances are in check... use this to get the cr you want

The answer is yes to all of your questions. The A6 and Z6 use PM6 rods. The only issue is valve reliefs in the pistons being shallow and closer together than the VTEC units. It won't hit unless you have a huge cam or the timing is way off.

Same thing I was going to mention. Also if your going with a factory Compression Ratio, using the A6 pistons in the z6 block is ok to do but I wouldn't recommend using those pistons on a built d-series v-tec engine
